We have great clients. Yep, that’s you! We love how much you want the best for your four-legged crew and increasingly we are getting questions about home cooking. While we think this is a great idea, we also want to make sure that your four-legged family members are getting a complete, nutritionally balanced, diet. That’s why we have partnered with Just Food For Dogs (fun fact they have cat formulations as well) to offer another level of service and options for our amazing patients and clients.
JustFoodForDogs (JFFD) launched the fresh, whole food movement for pets when they opened the first open to the public kitchen cooking food for dogs in 2010. For the first time, consumers could see for themselves the most nutritious food they could serve their family pets being made right in front of them.
JustFoodForDogs recipes have been proven healthy (jffd.co/provenhealthy) and were found to promote the healthy functioning of the immune system of dogs following year-long feeding trials conducted by two independent universities. A team of in-house veterinarians formulates the meals utilizing only fresh, whole food ingredients USDA/FDA certified for human consumption, in recipes nutritionally balanced for dogs as well as cats.
Six whole-food recipes are available for healthy dogs, including Beef & Russet Potato, Chicken & white Rice, Fish & Sweet Potato, Lamb & Brown Rice, Turkey & Whole Wheat Macaroni and Venison & Squash, along with limited-time seasonal specials such as bison or pork.
JFFD also offers Do-It-Yourself kits for those who want to cook the daily meal recipes for their pets at home. Every DIY kit contains a shopping list, recipe, cooking instructions and a nutrient blend formulated for that recipe that is compounded from 100% human-edible ingredients.
The company has a line of veterinary support diets that are prescribed by veterinarians and designed to meet key nutritional factors and which support kidneys, liver, weight, digestion and skin in dogs. Additionally, the veterinary team creates custom diets for dogs and cats with complex needs.
Snacks, such as dehydrated chicken breast, beef flank steak and more are all made from ingredients certified by the USDA for human consumption as well.
To complement the healthy diets and snacks, supplements designed by the company’s board-certified veterinary toxicologist round out total pet wellness. The supplements address many of the most common ailments found in dogs, from enhancing calm behavior to helping with joint disease, skin conditions, allergies and inflammatory conditions.
